Children of Men

Eric and I just finished watching the most intense movie. Children of Men, starring Clive Owens and Julianne Moore(for once I didn’t find her annoying), directed by Alfonso Cuaron, was eye opening, plain scary, and real. Like real. Wow. Eric thought the movie was good until the ending. I thought it was artistically well done and symbolically significant. Every shot had some symbol that connected to the movie whether it was graffiti markings on the shantytown walls or just the aesthetics of the shot. The extras were pretty cool too because Cuaron (He did Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) did no cuts long shots, basically, only one chance to shoot a scene. Insane but it worked. The theories behind the plot are a bit quirky but it was worth it for 110 minutes. I especially liked Jasper who was played by Michael Cane.

I’ve been visiting the Holiday Market at Union Square quite frequently. It’s a nice little venue with random shops. Shops close down December 24th.

Schools almost out. 🙂
