Abortion Art

Filed under: films, news, TV — mete23 @ 6:59 pm

Oh my goodness. Aliza Shvart impregnated herself and then had intentional abortions in order to use the blood for her art project. What the freak to the max.

Helaine Klasky, a Yale University spokesperson, defended Shvart by saying, “The entire project is an art piece, a creative fiction.” (Newsweek) WITH FETUSES! I wonder….I dare to wonder how many babies she used.

Excerpts from the Yale Daily News:

“Art major Aliza Shvarts ’08 wants to make a statement.

Beginning next Tuesday, Shvarts will be displaying her senior art project, a documentation of a nine-month process during which she artificially inseminated herself “as often as possible” while periodically taking abortifacient drugs to induce miscarriages. Her exhibition will feature video recordings of these forced miscarriages as well as preserved collections of the blood from the process.

The goal in creating the art exhibition, Shvarts said, was to spark conversation and debate on the relationship between art and the human body.”

High five to art.

I have a slight obsession with Kobe Bryant. Check out his videos, especially the jumping over an Aston Martin video. I still think he is sort of a cocky donkey but not so much so.

Even though Speedracer looks dumb, I would watch it on IMAX. The directors did Matrix and I haven’t seen any of them. (Don’t kill me just yet)

Wordplay is on my desk right now, ready to be inserted into my DVD player. Here is one contestant, Ellen Ripstein.

The Office tonight at 9. I love Jim Halpert and Pam Beesley.

-Sorry if there was 8) after Klasky quote I was trying to write April twenty eighth and a close parenthesis but wordpress interpreted as a 8). But I got the quote from Newsweek April 28,08 Edition.
