Olympics 2008!

The opening ceremony made me proud to be Chinese.

The actual tapings of the opening ceremony should have been taken down by now but here is a dress rehearsal video. I think there were 15,000 different performers for the grand show. Amazing. Each act was rich in meaning and memorable. Plus, I loved the eye popping colors. It was definitely much more elaborate than Athens 2004 ceremony.

This video shows the training. If I correctly remember, the commentator said that most of the performers trained for 8+ months. The final torch bearer who ran across the top screen of the bird’s nest was unexpectedly nice, except for almost falling when he was released from the sitting position to a slo-mo running motion.

Honestly, who cares about this but Clay Aiken’s son, Parker Foster Aiken, was born August 8,2008 at 8:08 A.M. And sorry, I didn’t know he had a partner named Jaymes Foster.
